FEES AND FUNDING

Clear and honest information

Understanding the cost of care is an important part of planning support at home. This page explains how funding and contributions work under the Support at Home program, and how Care Homes on Wheels approaches fees.

We provide clear, personalised pricing information based on your approved plan and service needs. Every person’s situation is different. We provide clear, personalised information once we understand your approved plan.

Government-funded care under Support at Home

If you are approved for Support at Home, the Australian Government provides funding based on your assessed needs and classification. Funding is allocated as a quarterly budget.

Clinical Care (Clinical supports)

Services in the Clinical Care category (such as nursing, medication support, wound care and allied health) are fully funded by the government.

Clinical supports have a 0% participant contribution.

Independence and Everyday Living

Services in these categories (such as personal care, domestic assistance, meal preparation, transport and respite) may require a contribution from you. The amount you contribute depends on an income and assets assessment completed by Services Australia.

Important Note About Personal Care

Until 30 September 2026, personal care remains subject to the Independence contribution rate.

From 1 October 2026, approved personal care has no participant contribution when it is included in the support plan and sufficient Support at Home funds are available.

Private Services

If government funding is not yet available, or if you need additional support beyond your approved plan, private-pay options may be possible. We can discuss these during a free conversation and provide clear information about costs before any services begin.

Client Contributions – How They Work

You only pay a contribution for the Independence and Everyday Living services you actually receive. Your contribution rate is determined by Services Australia based on your income and assets.

We will explain clearly how any contributions apply to your situation once we have reviewed your My Aged Care approval and support plan. We do not provide financial advice.

For questions about your means assessment or contribution rate, contact Services Australia or My Aged Care.

Why fees may differ Several factors can affect the cost of care:

  • Your Support at Home classification and approved budget
  • The mix of Clinical Care, Independence and Everyday Living services you receive
  • Your individual contribution rate (if any)
  • How often and for how long support is provided
  • Whether any private services are included

Because every plan is personalised, costs are never one-size-fits-all.

What affects pricing

For government-funded services, pricing follows the Support at Home program rules and the rates we charge for each service type. Any contributions you pay are calculated according to government guidelines. For private services, we provide transparent pricing before you agree to anything.

When a quote or estimate is provided

We do not publish fixed prices on this website because every person’s needs and funding situation are different.

After we understand:

  • your My Aged Care approval (if you have one)
  • the services you need
  • your location

We will then explain the expected costs clearly and in writing as part of developing your support plan. There is no obligation to proceed.

What is included in a service agreement

Before any services start, you receive a clear service agreement. It sets out:

  • the specific services to be provided
  • how often they will occur
  • any government funding and your contribution (if applicable)
  • what is included and what is not
  • your rights and responsibilities
  • how to give feedback or raise concerns

You should only sign the agreement once you understand and are comfortable with the details.
